Describe the best meal you have had in your life. What was it and where did you have it?
A.
The best meal that I have ever had was not in a restaurant but in the dining hall of my previous church in Singapore! It was a special pot-luck event and everyone brought something to the event. The church that I attended was attended by a lot of Europeans working in Singapore. Therefore, we received a lot of dishes from other countries at that meal. I think everyone wanted to make the best dishes that they can for the church event, because the dishes were some of the best that I have ever had! Someone from Turkey made baklava, a special layered dessert with nuts and honey and it was the best baklava that I ever had! I learned to make baklava from a recipe that she gave me that night. A second dish that was the best that I ever had was creamed potatoes. Creamed potatoes is a very common western dish but this one was made from tiny little potatoes instead of sliced potatoes, and the sauce was savory and only slightly creamy. It wasn’t just me but everyone at that dinner raved about those potatoes!
