Pad thai is definitely Thailand’s most famous dish. It is a stir-fried dish made with rice noodle, shrimp, chicken, tofu, peanut, scrambled egg, and bean sprout. The dish has a signature tangy, salty flavor with a hint of sweetness. Almost every Thai restaurant has pad thai on their menu. It is also a common street food in Thailand, where it is cooked to order. Pad thai was also listed at number five on a list of “World’s 50 Most Delicious Foods” by CNN GO in 2011.

팟타이는 틀림없이 태국의 가장 유명한 음식이다. 쌀국수, 새우, 닭고기, 두부, 땅콩, 스크램블 에그, 콩나물 등을 넣은 볶은 요리이다. 이 요리는 톡 쏘는 맛, 짠 맛에 있고 달콤함이 약간 가미되어 있다.
거의 모든 태국 음식점 메뉴에는 팟타이가 있다. 또한 태국에서 주문하면 바로 요리되는 흔한 길거리 음식이기도 하다. 팟타이는 또한 2011년 CNN GO가 선정한 "세계에서 가장 맛있는 음식 50개" 순위에서 5위에 올랐다.

Q. Does your family have any special recipes that have been
passed down
from
generation
to generation?

A. I am not sure how far back it goes, but my family has a special recipe for chocolate banana cake. I think it went back at least two generations. My mom learned the recipe from her mom, and she made it almost every other weekend when I was a child. Eventually she taught it to me. My version has a little less sugar, but my mom’s version is definitely better. Now whenever I visit my parents, it is always part of the welcome-home meal.
