Motivation

Andrew’s motivation
I am teaching math to 6th grade students. Andrew is one of my students. He used to be the top student in class but recently his grades have started to go down. I spoke to his parents. We found that Andrew lacks motivation. Andrew’s parents told him that if his grades improve, they will bring him to Disneyland. I can tell that Andrew loves Disneyland, because his grades have gone all the way up in just three months! It seems like we all need motivation, even if it's a small reward.

앤드류의 동기
난 6학년 아이들에게 수학을 가르친다. 앤드류는 내가 가르치는 학생들 중 한명이다. 그는 반에서 일등을 하곤 했었는데 최근에 성적이 계속 떨어진다. 난 앤드류 부모님과 얘기를 했다. 대화를 하면서 앤드류가 동기가 부족하다는 것을 알았다. 앤드류 부모님은 그에게 성적이 오르면 디즈니랜드에 데려가겠다고 말씀하셨다. 앤드류가 디즈니랜드를 얼마나 좋아하는지 알 수 있다. 왜냐하면 성적이 3개월동안 내내 향상되었기 때문이다. 우리 모두는 비록 작은 보상이라 하더라도 동기가 꼭 필요한 것 같다.
