Australia has several climate zones across the country. The northern region has a more tropical climate. In these areas, summers are hot and humid while winters are quite warm. The southern region of Australia is cooler than the northern region. The climate in the desert areas is extremely hot and temperatures can reach above 50°C with no rain for years. Seasons in Australia are opposite to countries in the Northern Hemisphere. For example, when it is summer in the United States or South Korea, it is winter in Australia.
