Do Not Eat or Drink in the MRT

Eating or drinking is not allowed in Taiwan’s subway system, or the Taipei Mass Rapid Transit (MRT). Better known as the Taipei Metro, passengers are not allowed to eat or drink within the MRT. Any passengers who ignore caution from a member of staff and continue to have food and drink will be fined between TWD1500 and TWD750(KRW60,000-30,000).

대만 지하철이나 타이베이 고속철도(MRT)에서는 식사나 음료가 허용되지 않는다. 타이베이 메트로로 더 잘 알려졌고 승객들은 MRT 내에서 먹거나 마실 수 없다. 직원의 경고를 무시하고 계속해서 음식을 먹거나 마시는 승객은 TWD1500에서 TWD750(한화 30,000-60,000원)의 벌금이 부과 된다.

?

A. I think there should be a law against people talking loudly on the phone or watching videos without headphones. People who are considerate would not make phone calls nor watch videos or listen to music when they do not have headphones. However, some people would talk loudly on the phone, forcing the rest of the passengers to listen to their conversations. These annoying and rude habits disturb other passengers, so I believe noise regulation for public transportation should be added.
