African Americans make up the second largest ethnic group in the United States. They account for 46.8 million, or 13.4 percent of the American population. African Americans have made great contributions in the arts, music, dance, and fashion in the United States. One of the greatest and ongoing contributions that African Americans have on American popular culture, and to the rest of the world, is music. Popular genres of music, including hip-hop, rhythm and blues, and soul have been dominated by African American artists.

One famous African American I can think of is the former President of the United States, Barack Obama. He served as the 44th President of the United States from 2009 to 2017. He was the first African American to be elected as President of the United States. Personally, I am a fan of his. He seemed to be a really nice guy who loves his family.
