Inuksuk

An inuksuk is a manmade stone landmark built by the indigenous people of the Arctic region of North America. These structures are found in northern Canada, Greenland, and Alaska. They were used for practical reasons such as navigation aids, control points, message centers, and to mark roads in the mountains. It became popular after it was used as the logo of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. Jewelry, keychains, and other items in the shape of inuksuk, or with designs of inuksuk, make interesting souvenirs.
