Stone totems can come in assorted semi-precious stones and carvings. They appeal to both men and women and can make great souvenirs for both.

Q. Do you believe in the meaning of stone totems? Why or why not?

A. I think stone totems can make wonderful souvenirs if they are attractive, but I don’t think too much of the meaning of totems. I think it is okay if it helps the person to feel better or safer, but a lot of times I think people can put too much time, effort, or meaning into it. I think it’s okay to have beliefs about things, but they have to help us, not hurt us in any way. I have met people whose whole house is full of the totems that they believe in, or people who will not do anything or plan anything, until they have consulted whatever it is that they believe in. I am not sure that is healthy.
