Malaysian Indians

Malaysian Indians are from India and Sri Lanka. Malaysian Indians are known as Hindus or Tamils, and many of these peoples practice Hinduism. Indian females have an interesting practice of placing a small colored dot, called the “pottu” or “bindi,” at the center of their forehead. The color of this dot shows the woman’s marital status. A red bindi means that the woman is married, and a black bindi means that the woman is single.

말레이시아 인디언들은 인도와 스리랑카 출신이다. 말레이시아 인디언들은 힌두교 또는 타밀교로 알려져 있으며, 이들 중 많은 사람들이 힌두교를 실천하고 있다.
인도 여성들은 그들의 앞머리의 중앙에 "팟투" 또는 "빈디"라고 불리는 작은 색깔의 점을 도배하는 재미있는 관행을 가지고 있다. 이 점의 색깔은 그 여자의 결혼 상태를 보여준다. 빨간 빈디는 여자가 결혼했다는 뜻이고, 검은 빈디는 여자가 미혼이라는 뜻이다.
