Q.
Describe three words or slang from your native language that are commonly used among young people.
A.
There are many Korean slangs, but the three slangs that I use most commonly are "warabel", "ne-fficial", and "kuanku." "Warabel" is a shortened form of an English phrase for work-life balance. This slang is important to office workers who are suffering from high work stress. In "ne-fficial", "ne" means brain in English, and it is combined with the word "official". It means one's own thoughts without objective basis. "Kuanku" is used a lot among young women. It refers to a natural look that looks as if a woman had not paid any attention to her appearance. In reality, she has put in a lot of effort to how she looks. This is a popular term and trend in Korean beauty lingo.
