There are many different housing types to choose from in Australia. However, six most common are stand-alone houses, terraces, semi-detached, duplex, townhouses, and apartments. Stand-alone houses with three bedrooms are the most common in Australia. Australia has the most single-story houses in the world. With so much land in Australia, there is no need to build another floor on the top. Houses with balconies and verandas are more common since the winters are so mild. High ceilings are also common. They make a house look bigger and cools it naturally, making it more energy efficient.

겨울은 아주 온화하기 때문에 발코니와 베란다를 갖춘 집은 더 흔하다. 높은 천장 또한 흔하다. 높은 천장은 집을 더 커 보이게 하고 자연적으로 시원하게 해줘 에너지 효율성을 높인다.
