Q.
Do you think that the rules for jaywalking are adequate in your country?
A.
The rules for jaywalking are definitely not adequate in my home country Malaysia. Jaywalking is illegal in Malaysia but there is usually no one around to enforce the rules. There are usually no authorities around to catch any jaywalkers so jaywalking is very common. I don’t know anyone who has been punished for jaywalking in my country. Probably because of this reason, a lot of people in the country do not think that it is illegal. The other problem in Malaysia is that cars do not stop at zebra crossings! This makes the problem of jaywalking even worse. People crossing at zebra crossings is not any safer than jaywalking.
