Q.
Are the laws around pedestrian crossing very strict in your country?
A.
The laws concerning pedestrian crossings are very strict in America. A few years ago, about 16% of total traffic deaths in the United States were pedestrian deaths. I thought this was a very high percentage when I first found out about it. At that time, lawmakers were scrambling to pass new laws to protect pedestrians. I am not sure what the new laws are but I do know that nine out of the ten worst states were located in the south of America. Things have gotten a little better but there is still a long way to go.
