Service professionals in Spain earn much higher salaries than those in countries like the United States. They do not count on tips as part of their salaries. Often tips are just a small change for these high-paid professionals. Many will even place any tips left for them into the cash register because the coins will just take up extra space in their wallet. For any truly excellent service, a tip of no more than 5% of the total bill can be left at the table.
